The agreement
These Terms are an agreement between the company that provides Cue ("Cue", "we") and the organization you represent ("you"). By creating an account or using Cue, you accept them and confirm you have authority to bind that organization. If you and we have signed a separate order or agreement, it takes priority where the two conflict.
Cue is a business product. You must be at least 18, and you may not use Cue as a consumer. The Acceptable Use Policy and Data Processing Addendum form part of these Terms. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
What Cue does
Cue builds a set of slides for your talk from your materials and brand, then brings up slides as you speak. Cue may add, change or remove features. If we remove something you rely on in a material way, we will give reasonable notice where we can.
Accounts and security
- Keep your sign-in details secure and accurate, and tell us promptly if you suspect misuse.
- You are responsible for what happens under your organization's accounts.
- Audience links let anyone holding them view that talk without signing in. Share them only with people who should see it.
Your content
You own your content. That means what you upload and what Cue generates for you ("Output"), to the extent the law allows. We claim no ownership of either.
You give us a limited permission to host, copy, process and display your content only as needed to provide Cue to you, including sending it to the providers on our Subprocessors page. We do not use it to train AI models.
You confirm you have the rights and permissions needed for what you upload, including logos, images, documents and any personal data in them.
AI-generated slides, and live matching
Please read this section. It sets real expectations about the product.
- Check everything before you present it. Slides, scripts and feedback are generated by AI models and can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable. Similar Output may be produced for other customers. You are responsible for reviewing Output and for what you present.
- Live matching is not perfect. Cue is built to hold rather than guess, but it can show the wrong slide, or not move when it should, especially in noisy rooms or with accents. You can lock a slide or take over with the keyboard at any time. Do not rely on Cue alone where a wrong slide would cause real harm.
- Speech recognition is your browser's. It depends on your browser and its provider, and we do not control its accuracy or availability.
- Tell people where the law requires it. You are responsible for telling people that speech is being recognized or transcribed, and for getting any consent the law requires, including from others in the room. You are also responsible for any disclosure the law requires about AI-generated content you present.
Our product
We own Cue, including its software, designs and brand. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your internal business during your subscription. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
Fees
Cue currently charges no fees unless you have agreed otherwise with us in writing. If we introduce fees, we will tell you the price and terms in advance, and you can stop using Cue rather than pay them.
Confidentiality
Each side will protect the other's non-public information with reasonable care, use it only for the purposes of this agreement, and disclose it only to people who need it and are bound to protect it, or where the law requires. Your content is your confidential information.
Disclaimer
To the extent the law allows, Cue is provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that Cue will be uninterrupted or error free, or that Output will be accurate.
Liability
To the extent the law allows: neither side is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill or data. Each side's total liability under these Terms is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Claims about your content
If a third party brings a claim against us because of your content or your breach of the Acceptable Use Policy, you will cover the reasonable losses and costs that result, provided we tell you promptly and let you control the defense.
Ending the service
You can stop using Cue at any time and ask us to delete your organization. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk, or if we stop offering Cue. We will give reasonable notice where we can.
After the service ends, ask us within 30 days if you need a copy of your content. We then delete it, as the Data Processing Addendum describes. Sections that by their nature should continue, including content ownership, confidentiality, disclaimers, liability and governing law, continue to apply.
General
- Governing law. These Terms are governed by the law of the place where Cue is established, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law says otherwise.
- Changes. We may update these Terms. We will give notice of material changes before they take effect. If you keep using Cue after that, the new Terms apply.
- Assignment. Neither side may transfer this agreement without the other's consent, except as part of a merger or sale of the business.
- Everything else. If part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right does not waive it. Neither side is liable for events beyond its reasonable control.
